The, for obvious reasons, much less photographed approach to the Seguin River Trestle. 2103 trails on westbound stacks. As I walked in circles around the tower for about an hour, I couldn't help but ponder what this scene must have looked like in the days of steam. Did 2816 pass over the bridge southbound on tour, of just northbound in Arnold Mooney's brilliant shot; http://www.railpictures.ca/upload/cps-old-steam-engine-2816-is-seen-crossing-the-parry-sound-trestle-on-its-way-back-to-the-north-and-west-after-a-tour-of-southern-ontario-much-to-the-delight-of-the-fans-one-can-see-the-railfans. And what must it have looked like in winter in the 50's and 60's.........

  1. It was always a tricky “northbound” shot from the tower. For one thing using film cameras accentuated the shadows. (Sun always on the wrong side) It is getting rather closed in by foliage both ways now.

  2. Yes, this country needs a lot of right of way “opened up” a little to allow for history to be properly recorded (see the Spiral Tunnels). Alas, this is surprisingly not a railroad priority :)
