L540 working Traxxside Transloading in Guelph on the south industrial spur of the Guelph Junction Railway, with some of CN's finest motive power in the lead. (Note: This is a railfan opinion - railroaders may see it differently!). L568 would instead take two CN GP38-2w's which would normally be assigned to 540. Why they swapped power I don't know, but it's nice to see the GMD1 return to my hometown.

  1. GMD1 needs to go away!

  2. Nice you got it switching as well!

  3. Might have to head back to Guelph…

  4. Now I wish I didn’t pick up that shift at work…

  5. The GMD1 seems better suited for L540 than L568… I would think L568 typically hauls more tonnage and would need bigger units.

  6. That GMD1 is actually better suited for L542, where it doesn’t need to do anymore then 10 mph.

  7. I’m getting the train numbers mixed up. I agree RLK2211, L542.

  8. Nice one Steve…guelph.ca on the water tower..sign of the times. ;)

  9. Nah, the GMD1 can stay. I hated to operate them but its 2019. Where else on any Class 1 can you get a photo like this!

  10. 1444 was sent back to Mac Yard last night.
