Wednesday night in Kitchener at exactly 9pm finds CN GMD-1U 1444 idling away at Kitchener yard on the passing track as it’s crew (who were likely called in for this extra a couple hrs earlier) prepare for their night at Huron Park. Trailing unit is gp9rm 7025.
Earlier that day, the regular 540 which ran to Guelph consisted of this GMD-1 in the lead (1444) and two gp9rm’s trailing 7025 and 4138. Tonight 4138 (the third unit in 540’s consist) will work the Waterloo Spur solo on CN’s usual weeknight local in Kitchener 566 (their crew had also just showed up as they’re scheduled start time is 21:00) and 1444 will take the extra 540 down the Huron Park Spur with 7025 trailing.

  1. Nice catch Graydon. 1444 certainly lead west often during it’s second stint out of Kitchener.

  2. It did? I was led to believe it was a middle unit for most of it…

Clearly it led west on Wednesday.. glad someone got it!

  3. Sorry, should have had the word “didn’t” in there. I believe it only led west the night
    Graydon shot them.

  4. Thx Guys, yep I am glad to see what the Guelph Sub had to offer last Wednesday night! Haven’t seen the GMD-1 in Brampton for a long time so glad I was able to find one here!
And Steve, wanna take a guess at what really brought me out to Kitchener this night?

  5. LOL Noe. Well, someone got it leading something :) Graydon, no, I know what you love :) I’d rather be in bed than shooting a train at midnight.
