It seems like forever that we have been studying, researching and talking about higher-speed rail, and here's more proof.  CP Rail hosted the X2000 train-set along many of its lines in 1993.  Here she is shown at Toronto Union to be introduced to the press and other invited guests.  She was pulled by an Amtrak F40 seen at the far end.

  1. Interesting photo. What was the fate of this trainset (and others)? My hunch is that it was very experimental and didn’t last long on any NA railroads.

  2. Why the Amtrak F40 though? VIA couldn’t spare any?

  3. @Driver8666 It was probably a US tour with us as an extension. Amtrak was testing both this and Germany’s ICE at the time.
