CP C424 4210, CP SD40-2 5422 and GATX SD40-2 7367 lead a southbound train through Hamilton as it heads to Aberdeen Yard. The mid-1990’s was a great time to photograph CP with its army of colorful lease units as well as its remaining MLW roster running out their last years of service on the railway.

  1. Anyone know when the searchlights went in here?

  2. For GO project. 1995/6?

Th&B installed CTC in the 30′s on the Welland sub and removed it in early 90′s so these are the 2nd installation of ctc. GO paid for these.

  3. I found some shots online and everything was completed in the area by at least 2000 and the searchlights were standing by then.

Thanks Steve for the link to Arnold’s photo.

  4. Jamie, I have a TT from 96 and it show CTC from Mi 57.2 to Mi 60.2.

The next TT I have is date 1990 and It show OCS all the way to Hamilton Jct (just north of the Wye) where the Hamilton sub ended and the Goderich Sub began.
