A old shot of the once was a railroad town serviced by CP/OVR and CN/OCR. Now all that is left are trails and memories. This picture is of the OCR Ottawa-Pembroke Turn which just finished working the Smurfit-MBI plant. Today's work included a single 50ft boxcar set off and 1 picked up. The track radius was very tight and the flange squeal was quite the sound.

  1. That’s quite the quality right of way there :) LOL

  2. Yes it was and I have another shot that really shows how tight the curve is. I don’t think the quality is good enough to upload although… The track was not used very often as the plant also shipped by truck.

  3. Neat, where abouts in Pembroke was this? I have family from there and visited last year, the railway was evident in the town, sad it is all gone

  4. Very cool photo with all the overgrowth.

  5. Joseph, This is part of the old CN/CP later OVR/OCR interchange. If you look at Google Maps of Pembroke and look towards the west end, the outline is still clear of the track locations. This picture was taken at 45.824918, -77.143349. Sorry for not uploading that previously.
