While admittedly not the best image as far as quality goes, I was swayed to post it due to the great discussions arising from a previous 6060 posting. Other than the Royal York and maybe that CN S13, for a moment Toronto Union looks more like a US terminal. A New York Central sleeper in the business car track and a Southern F7 and N&W unit on a passenger train ?? For the previous week, the NRHS had held its Annual Convention in Toronto and what a time it was. The Southern and N&W units were heading home to Roanoke VA and the NYC sleeper which had arrived on the Southern powered train made its way home on regular trains.
Indeed it was quite a week.

  1. Maybe not the best image Steve, but thank you so much for posting this picture. As commented on your picture of 6060 departing for Niagara Falls with a Convention Special, I had the good fortune to ride the inbound Independence Limited from Alexandria VA & Roanoke.
Very nice to see a picture of the outbound Limited.

  2. Wow! Southern F unit in Toronto! Good times for sure.
