Built only three months before this picture was taken, HSCX-1 appears to have had a relatively hard life so far. It is sitting on the RIP track in Capreol, Ontario missing the A-end hand rails and the steps are bent up a little. Wish I had also taken that ash gondola peaking out from behind!

  1. Chas Abel??? You were lucky. I had more negs ruined by those guys than I care to think about. Woolco was close by my place and Abel wrecked stuff for their camera department too.

  2. Now if I could only spell Ektachrome correctly….

  3. Thanks everyone!! It was there one day and gone the next. Even more amazing is that the film was Ektcahrome and processed by Abel’s for Tamblyn Drug Store!

  4. Really amazing piece of history, this is.

  5. Thank you for sharing this.

  6. Wow. Hard to believe this was taken over 50 years ago. The deisgn on that Hawker Siddely car looks like it could’ve rolled out of a paint booth today, timeless design.

  7. I get a kick out of the water supply container sitting there. :o )

  8. Must’ve taken a beating somewhere.
