Not many of you will remember this station. No wonder. It was torn down not long after I grabbed this shot in early 1977. I haven't the date handy, but it was gone by the end of the year. Those familiar with Milton can see
this was but a small town in 1977, and the condo building behind it might have been one of the very first of many that has turned the place into the city that it now is.
The station was at the end of Court St North, on the south side of the tracks. Built around 1910. Passenger service ended in 1968 and from then on in, I guess it awaited the wrecker's ball.
Pity the namesign is gone,(no I don't have it) as the one on the other end was still intact.

  1. wha wha whaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? darnit.

  2. Such a shame, I’ve spent some time there over the years, long after your photo was taken. Interesting that the original CVR station is still alive and well in town. Relocated many decades ago and now a private residence. This style is very similar to the design used in Streetsville that too was demolished. Interesting that the original CVR station still survives there too.

  3. Where was this station located?

  4. I’d like to know where the original went to myself. I thought it was Commercial street; but I have no proof. I do need to look for the CVR when driving around old Milton. The place was built in 1879.

  5. I believe the original station is now located on either Commercial Street or Lydia Street. Unfortunately turned sideways and rebuilt to look nothing like a station with bay window and baggage doors removed. Unfortunately it was years ago I tracked it down and don’t remember exactly where it is now.

  6. Where was the station pictured located tho? :)

  7. As in caption. Court St N, south side of tracks. I trust there is still a Court St. N. And you can check by lining up with that condo that is probably the smallest of many by now.

  8. The site is still there and last time I was there the old loading ramp still existed too.

  9. Wild.. you can see the outline of where it was too

  10. Always interesting as usual Mr Mooney! Now is the Condo still there? ;)
