A little over a couple of weeks after seeing 562 spot two transformer loads in Port Colborne for the nearby hydro substation, I happened upon them lifting the two empty flats. After a brief and intense downpour, we were treated to some bright sun and a rainbow to boot.

  1. Like what are the odds of that when 562 is down there. Haha. That’s awesome timing man.

  2. Yeah felt kind of fitting that my first rainbow in a shot was down there. Might as well catch lightning in a bottle twice haha.

I remember showing a colleague this shot from Matt Watson (http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=38216) a couple years back and she was convinced the rainbow had to have been photoshopped in because the timing was too good. I defended the fact it’s something we all hope to stumble into and yes despite seeming against all odds does in fact happen.

  3. Great shot James! I think your colleague seriously overestimates my photoshop skills lol.

  4. Nicely done James!

  5. It’s always sunny in Port Colborne haha. Awesome, awesome shot James!

  6. Jamie made GE’s look good. Nice work!

  7. @ Matt, hahaha yeah I wouldn’t know where to begin with an edit like that. Don’t worry, I staunchly defended the legitimacy of your photo.

    @ Brad, thank you.

@ Mark, I almost said that in the caption but figured I best keep inside jokes out of it haha.

@ Steve, thanks. Always enjoy the pleasure and challenge of finding interest in the otherwise mundane.

  8. Well it is Pride month after all. Perfect rainbow timing :-)
