Nice idyllic scene? It might look something of that sort. But actually, I was hanging tight to a concrete barrier that protected me from heavy truck traffic on BC Hwy 3 and a barely two foot ledge overlooking the valley here. Unnerving. But, the scene looked good, and with the help of a digital age camera in hand, was able to fire off 5 or 6 half decent shots as the train came into view, then passed down below me. Not a spot I will chose again. Eastward CP 8104, 8505, 9775 and 9785 is the power. The location is about a mile east of where Ken Parry the other day posted a delightful old time night shot of the Elko station.

  1. Brilliant effort. Well worth it.

  2. Well, thank you kindly. It was a bit steep there.
