These units sure are a far cry from the six axle MLW’s we wished were still running, but unfortunately we were about a year too late for that. Nevertheless these days SD45-2’s are almost as rare. So definitely a nice consultation prize. We did manage to photograph almost all of the retired MLW’s sitting in Sidney on this trip, a year later they were almost all scrapped. Harve Boucher is a nice scenic location with the rail line skirting a lake with the same name as the town. Unfortunately when the yard is full it blocks out the view of the lake. Here CBNS train 305 storms past the yard and lake behind with a trio of former Clinchfield SD45-2’s. A few years later the big SD’s were retired in favour of run of the mill SD40’s , so I’m glad I took the time to follow these big EMD’s.
