Just west of the Woodstock diamond at CNR Carew is this ancient signal used to govern eastward movements toward the CNR crossing. This signal is one of the older types out there, and you can see similar ones on the former CNR Cayuga subdivision near the CPR Diamond (where CPR would have been junior) such as This one from April 2020. Pictured in OSRs Glory years is three FP9As hauling autoracks for CAMI automotive. Very soon CAMI will go dark as they will stop production to re-tool to build Brightdrop Electric delivery vehicles for the likes of Amazon, UPS, Fedex, etc. However, as I post this OSR should be out hauling frames for Formet to Beachville, win some, lose some right? However the frames are supposed to be temporary while CN has issues on the Talbot sub.

  1. It looks like the plant will be closed from May 1 to Oct or Nov when the new EV line starts up. Hopefully the production is shipped out by rail.

Here’s an article explaining the situation: https://london.ctvnews.ca/the-finish-line-draws-closer-for-gas-powered-vehicles-at-ontario-cami-plant-1.5804523

Awesome shot BTW. Very sweet light.

  2. I love the Railink livery. Such a sharp paint scheme for these units. Unfortunately, only 1400 remains in it.

  3. These are the things we don’t know yet, if the Brightdrops will go by rail or not.

1400 is unfortunately a bit of a lemon, it doesn’t get out all that often and when it does it’s not out for long. Always issues with it. It seemed to do the same on GEXR too.

  4. Amazing photo…it seemed like yesterday that CAMI was just coming in to production…hopes for the EV’s but somehow I wonder how many will go by rail…time will tell

  5. Ah, that sweet winter light

  6. Great photo Steve

  7. Tx gents. 6 months we will know all. These were osr’s glory years. Triples of f units… tonnes of traffic and they recently started doing the Cayuga to Courtland. Even that is now all gone(courtland)

  8. No update on rail service and limited production began with first vehicles off the line in December 2022
