The weekend of October 13-14, 1962 provided railfans in the Montreal area with two excursions out of Central Station behind two steam locomotives. The Saturday trip would be led by J-4-d Pacific 5107, and the Sunday trip double headed with 5107 and U-2-c 6153. These trips run by the Canadian Railroad Historical Association were supported by the Upper Canada Railway Society.Having to be back in Toronto later that evening, I chased a portion of the trip before returning to Montreal to board a westbound pool train home. Seen along the Valleyfield Sub at an unnoted location, the double header with twelve cars and 573 passengers is seen near Barrington, possibly just east near the community of Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle.Further information can be found in Canadian Rail issues 138 and 139.Shots from Saturday's excursion can be seen here:CNR 5107 at RichmondCNR 5107 at St-HyacintheScan and editing by Jacob Patterson. *Geotagged location not exact.
