The Location:


Searching through google maps aerial photos, and based on the bridge design,  Lillooet appears to the closest match – would appreciate someone in the know to confirm.
 

Noteworthy


In 2004 CN bought  BC Rail Ltd., the assets of the operating railway (the loco's, rolling stock).


And in 2004 CN leased the British Columbia Railway Co. (BCRC) assets (excluding the Delta Port assets) including the right-of-way and track materials, for a period of 60 years. Per the terms of the lease, the rail, ties and ballast are owned by BCRC as would be any replacement materials, which must be of the same standard as the original materials, unless the landlord consents otherwise. Also at the end of the lease the assets must be at the same standard as at the start of the lease – which may be interesting especially with regard to the Dease Lake extension the 202 mile Takla Sub-Division (Fort St. James to Minaret end of track).


The outcome of the above was a significant political scandal, whereas other parties bidding for the assets claimed the process was rigged. Quite the kerfuffle ensued. In 2010 two BC government political aides were convicted of breach of trust  and sentenced  serving two years in house arrest and 150 hours of community work.

  1. North end of the bridge would be mile 160.5 Lillooet subdivision,near station name sign Polley. The village of Lillooet is a couple miles south of this location. The train is northbound.
