Caption: Having just crossed the high level bridge, a southbound CP Dayliner approaches its South Edmonton station stop in the summer of 1964. Based on the sun angle, this looks like No. 306, one of three daily trains in each direction between Alberta's two largest cities. No. 306 departed CP's downtown Edmonton station at 6:00 PM, arriving Calgary at 9:30 PM after a 193.9 mile run. Service was cutback to South Edmonton on October 29, 1972 and VIA service was discontinued on October 27, 1985.

Correction–According to Trackside Treasures, the last VIA RDCs to and from South Edmonton were on September 6, 1985. Incidentally, in 1972 when CP moved from their downtown station to South Edmonton, there were morning and evening runs daily in each direction.
