Caption: In August 1970, SDP45 3664 was delivered new to the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and eventually became Conrail 6695 following the formation of big blue. Post retirement it became VMV Enterprises (VMVX) 6695, then later Morrison Knudsen Corporation (MKCX) 9515 remaining in its Conrail blue colours. During the 90’s several members of the EL SDP45 fleet were rebuilt into new SD40M-2’s by Morrison Knudsen for Southern Pacific. 9515 seemed to have eluded this rebuilding program and instead became part of the great CP lease fleet of the mid-90’s. Where it went after its lease to CP someone on here might know as the trail seems to have gone cold. However, decades later, Athearn Genesis did do an HO model of it in this same version.
Here on a September morning, MKCX 9515 along with CP Control Cab 1100 and SD40-2 6043 wait between assignments at CP’s Toronto Yard diesel shop.
