ALCO C-425 #6101, lettered for the fledgling Port Colborne Harbour Railway, is seen heading back to WH Yard after working Goderich Elevator down on the harbour. This is the first road intersection on the return; crossing Sugarloaf at Elm St on a nice sunny and very warm afternoon. The old locomotive was returned to the New York and Lake Erie railroad in 2001 and is now on the roster of the Delaware-Lackawanna in Pennsylvania.
The PCHR at this time was in its' infancy. The official Grand Opening ceremonies were still a week away.

  1. Shot this one on D-L. Didn’t realize they got a nyle engine!

  2. Impressive Photo….Goderich Elevator no more… I think almost 1 year now …

  3. Port Colbourne Harbour Railway is still a better name for a railway than GioRail.

  4. “GioRail” sucks the big one.
