CP SD40A 6403, C-424 4208 and GP38-2 3072 are pictured waiting to depart Aberdeen Yard in Hamilton, Ontario across from the station building. CP 6403 was originally built as Kansas City Southern SD40 625 in June 1970. It was eventually acquired by SOO Line and became SOO Line 6403.

    The 6400’s were interesting units, the low numbered ones like 6403 were only SD40’s not SD40A’s, as this unit lacks the SD40P frame and oversized fuel tank. The SD40A’s came from IC/ICG. Neat photo!

    Thanks for the correction and info Marcus. Yes, you are right. I was see now the former SOO Line SD40A’s were 6405-6410.
