The CPKC Cascade yard (Mile 128). Here we see three WestCoast Express trains and CPKC 2094 sitting in the yard with a cut of intermodal cars. Chinatown can be seen just to the right.

  1. Nice to see something from Vancouver. I’ve not had the desire to go there, but I often wonder how they even find room for a tree or two in such a crammed city. :o )

  2. Vancouver is certainly tight, and there is really not much railfanning to be done right in Vancouver, but just outside, there is the Fraser Canyon, which is the main/only connection to the eastern part of Canada. Quite a few trains go through there in a day!

  3. Tight? Geez. Its like they pile them one on top of the other and an empty space gets an apartment tower.
I was heading that way toward Hope but with luck being not so good, the road was closed due to fires last fall. The air coming up from Washington to BC was heavy with smoke.
    Not healthy for a geezer.
