At least we did not have to worry about sun angles, which could hinder shooting northbound trains in the mid-morning. Here at the former CN (now Keewatin) station is, on the left, VIA 6458, 6428, the power for the #691 train to Churchill. The other pair, PRLX (former GATX reporting marks) 2269 and 2265, is the power for KRC’s “Puk train” (Pukatawagan) which was made up and leaving shortly after this image was taken. Great little photo Arnold. Seems that politics sometimes overlooks how vital rail transportation is when trains are cancelled, rails removed severing communities that are quite distanced between each other.

Nice little station too.

I enjoy photos from this part of the world, one I’ll likely never visit. The PUK train is one of the only one of it’s kind and quite unique. Wish the Alcos were still running but alas..
