Head of the class CP 5000 assisted by 2291 are seen rolling eastward on approach to the old station at Nelson, BC. The 5000 was delivered to CP on 5/12/2013 from Progress Rail, Mayfield, KY. It is an SD30C-ECO, rebuilt from the old CP 5950. Trailing unit is classed as a GP20C-ECO. Nelson sure has changed over the years. Besides the loss of that classic Shop facility, it appears downtown to be a refuge for wayward hippies. :o)

    Man, can’t imagine being in a location like this. Wall of trees makes me feel secluded, just from looking at your photo. Honestly, wish I was there though! Great photo of this train coming around the bend.

    Thanks, Todd. I thought the wall of trees and the colours made the photo, much more than the actual locomotives which are mostly in shade. Love the leader number of 5000, too. Otherwise I probably would not have bothered to post this.
    Behind me is the Nelson CP station. It is gorgeous land out there.
