Dearly beloved, we are gathered here together.......... well not quite... actually, these CN GMD GP40s are collected in town for their official renumbering.
Seen in a row in the yard are CN 9306, 9307, 9302, 9310 and others. They had previously toiled in the 4000 series. Built in 1966/67, they were retired or sold by 1998.

  1. R.I.P. to the glory days though, eh? Where one could sign a waiver to wander and photograph through a large yard, or just meander through a smaller yard away from a mainline. The latter is what my Grandpa Mellow did for my brother and I in Napanee, ON. Although time moves on the memories last forever.

So, in short great photo Arnold. Keep them coming, cause for all of us contributors we can share these with a memory or a story to tell. Or for us fans like me, can relate to a first time seeing a CN unit like 9306.

  2. Thanks, Todd. Didn’t even have to sign a waiver.

  3. This transition photo shows nicely for the CN modellers that some of those 9300′s ran in the noodle livery, while others only existed in zebra stripes since they had already been repainted as 4000′s.
