One of the Credit Valley Explorer coaches has been repainted in a black and grey CN style scheme. It was a nice flashback as I realized I had not seen a car in this paint in 35 years. Add some steam on the platform and it would have been perfect.

If I had kept my F250 I might have been able to bring this unit home. <br><br> GO 651 has a long rope attached to an adapter in it's coupler for a world record attempt of 12 women pulling a locomotive. Behind the engine, one of the teams is doing a photo op.

X (and a rock) marks the Spot. New signals are on the way for the BCRY crossings of Huronia Road in Barrie. This long serving wood post with it's nailed on aluminum numbers will soon be a thing of the past. In the background the tracks get a little spring maintenance.

The Canadian General Electric Plant switcher was parked in the open adjacent Wolfe Street. The 50 ton switcher was built in 1956. It's a youngster compared to some of the antique flatcars on this site.

The Huntsville roadswitcher passes through Bracebridge during a squall. I was up to my knees in snow after taking one step too many on a snowbank.

A southbound intermodal train flys through Midhurst. Gone are the days when trains would stop to do work here. the south siding switch was removed about a year ago and only OCS movements occcur now. Behind the locomotives on the east side of the mainline was a wye that originally served a large ballast pit. the wye and was used as an occasional team track and was removed around 2000. The Barrie-Collingwood Railway gets the local traffic now.

One of TTC's new articulated streetcars heads south at track speed strapped down to TTIX 156393. 50 foot flat cars were used to allow for the overhang beyond the deck.

For the return of GO service to Barrie in December of 2007, a demonsration run was held on the Sunday before the start of regular service. Barrie received 6 inches of snow overnight and it did not stop until mid afternoon.

The former Ontario, Simcoe and Huron King City station rests quietly at the King Township Museum. Built in 1852, it is the oldest surviving station on Canada.
