![CP 6000 with the 5663, laden with one semi-trailer and a single layer of containers, are headed west at MP 63.2, SNS Magellan, on the CP Cascade sub just west of Agassiz B.C. Both units are SD40-2'S. The 6000 (Blt.1980) was rebuilt in 2017 as SD40-3 #5100. The 5663 (Blt. 1973) was declared surplus in late 2006 and sold to Larry's Truck and Electric in late 2008. It became LTEX #5663.

![CN 2419 with the 5511 trailing are headed east at Milepost 61.1 on CN's Yale Sub at Rosedale. The 2419 is a GE Dash 8-40CM built in 1990. I read somewhere that only half of them had nose bells. The 5511 is an EMD SD60F built in 1989 and retired in 2017. I often have to question the dates I recorded on these photos. This one was taken on February 26th 1995. The weather in this area back then was very mild and raining most of the time. More like the North Pole now.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/CN2419.5511.MP61.1.SNSRosedale.-CNYaleSub.1240hrs.02.26.1995-200x150.jpg)

![Three GE AC4400CW's, built in 1995, and seen here at CP's Golden B.C. Yard in June, 1997. A great yard to photograph from the perimeter.
The 9555 was rebuilt in 2018 as AC4400CWM #8016, as was the 9561 which became #8051. The 9554 was delivered for rebuild in Texas in February 2019 ..... to the best of my knowledge.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/CP9555.9561.9554.GoldenYd.CPWindermereSub-1455hrs.06.19.1997-200x150.jpg)

![CPXW 5615 and 5821, two GMD SD40-2's, emerge from the west portal at SNS Magellan on the CP Cascade Sub just west of Agassiz B.C. There are two tunnels located here, side by side. One for westbound traffic, one for eastbound, and long before directional running between Kamloops and Vancouver. The local fishermen walked westward through the eastbound tunnel to get to their favorite fishing holes. I can't remember how railfans of the day managed it. I think we went up and over.
In the early 90's it was possible to pick up the daily east and westbound lineups on our scanners at around 0700 every morning. Barring any delays it worked out well and made it possible to pre-plan several good locations for the day, which were and still are, quite spread out between Chilliwack, Boston Bar - North Bend, and beyond.
Courtesy the Trackside Guide, and please correct me if I'm wrong: The 5615, built in 1972, was sold to Larry's Truck Electric in 2016. The 5821, built in 1974, was sold to Helm Financial in 2006 or 7.
I used a Pentax SP 1000 before upgrading to a Canon Eos Elan, and Kodachrome 64 or 200 for all trackside photos taken between '94 and '97.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/CP5615.5821.MP63.8.SNSMagellan.-CPCascadeSub.1110hrs.09.17.1994-200x150.jpg)

![From another point of view: The ex GTW & IRRS EMD GP9 4519 was built in 1957. First numbered GTW 4919, the now Nelson and Fort Sheppard 4519, since 2012, is seen here shutdown in the siding at the Atco Wood Products mill in Fruitvale B.C. The mileage listed on the cross bucks at the entry crossing to the mill reads 149.91. At one time the unit delivered product from the mill to the U.S. border where there's a connection with the BNSF Nelson Sub. It might still but there are signs that the 4519 hasn't moved in a very long time.
By coincidence there's a photograph by another photographer at another website dated 8/21/2018 that was taken from this exact vantage point. That photo is minus the car in the parking lot seen at the bottom front end of the unit, indicating that it probably hasn't moved in a very long time. The GPS reading for this photo is pin pointed on the roof of the unit.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/NFSR.4519.SNSFruitvale.-NelsonFortSheppardSub.-1400hrs.06.05.2019.2-200x150.jpg)
