![On a recent trip to Lillooet I was fortunate enough to find the the Kaoham Shuttle at the station. CN 10800, (ex BCOL TU-108) and CN 10900, (ex BCOL TU-109) were built by Jim Busby Services in 1999 and purchased by BC Rail in 2002 when their regular passenger service ended. The Kaoham Shuttle is operated in partnership with CN and the Seton Lake Indian Band, and provides service to the communities of Shalalth and Seton Portage with trips further south to D'Arcy, available by reservation only. Doug Lawson's photo: ID 32222, shows BC Rail TU-108 before the switch to CN logos and colours.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/CN.KaohamShuttleXS.10800.10900.-MP157.6.SNSLillooet.-LillooetStation.CNLillooetSub.-1320hrs.11.04.2019-200x150.jpg)

![BCR 610, an RS18C, is seen here at the Lillooet shop tracks with BCR #8, the "Budd Wiser" school car in tow. The car was given it's name by the high school students who traveled on it, and every day, five days a week, it transported them, along the banks of Seton Lake, from Seton Portage to Lillooet. My understanding is that the students would return home by regularly scheduled south bound passenger service in the afternoon. Must have been a wonderful way to get to school & back. By road and school bus now but, as we all know, the train was more dependable.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/BCOL610.wBCOL8_.Budd_.WiserCar.MP157.6.-LilliooetShopTracks.SNSLillooet.BCOLLillooetSub.0930hrs.04.13.1995.-200x150.jpg)

![BCR 762, 758 and 757, three SD40-2's, are stopped in front of the Lillooet Station before they proceed north to Prince George. The trains ran very slowly through this region, and always with a track patrol, either a pickup or a speeder, watching for rock slides as they led them through the most treacherous parts of the terrain. I believe, from what I've read, that since CN's takeover in 2003, the track patrols were gradually replaced with barriers and slide fences. It was also in that year that what was once a world class railway experience, disappeared forever.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/BCOLXN762.758.757.MP157.6.SNSLillooetStation.-BCOLLillooetSub.1647hrs.04.15.1995-200x150.jpg)

![CP 9573, an AC4400CW, is eastbound at Kanaka on CP's Thompson Sub. The location is just west of Lytton where the Cisco Bridges cross the Fraser River. This shot was taken from mile 104 on CN's Ashcroft Sub at the end of the Cisco Siding Road. The Fraser runs through a narrow gorge here and we were perched on the edge of the cliff looking across the river. I'm not sure what caused the white stain on the cliff face, (possibly lime?) but on a recent visit, although faded, it was still quite visible.
Ouch! ... had we been able to shoot this train at a different location, we would have been able to get CP 9542 / 9569 / 9543 / 9010 and SOO 6058 trailing. Research indicates that all of these units are still running in some form or another.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/CPXE9573.9542.9569.9543.9010.6058.-MP101.SNSKanaka.-CPThompsonSub.1403hrs.04.07.1996-200x150.jpg)
