Caption: A CP westbound train is viewed waiting to depart Lambton Yard near West Toronto, Ontario on the Galt Subdivision with a trio of SD40-2’s that included; 5736, 672 and SOO Line 788. At the same time, a short eastbound train continues to Toronto Yard with leased VIA Rail F40PH-2’s 6453 and 6454 for power. At the time, CP Rail was leasing nine F40PH-2’s from the passenger carrier to assist with their motive power shortage. They were mainly used on local jobs as well as mainline 900 series trains that operated within the province.

Where did the autoparts traffic typically come from?
Great timing. I bet you were shocked when that pulled in???
-applegathc- Those boxcars might have been coming from Ford in Oakville as CP switched there at the time along with CN. I wish I would have got a train # for the two F40′s that day.
-Steve- Yes we were shooting the westbound with 5736 and then noticed the two VIA units on the eastbound coming down the main at a decent speed.
