During my very first visit to Brantford, Ontario with my dad, I photographed what was likely CN laser train #238 passing the station with a friendly wave from the engineer of SD40 5045 that led six other units.

  1. That must’ve been exciting !

  2. I will second that, the sound of turbos as the engineer grabs a couple of notches, M’mmmm. :-)

  3. Great capture! That was BIG power at the time!
You also caught some now long gone equipment in the back tracks to the left. A string of CN white fleet boarding cars, a Pyke Model KL ballast regulator, and a 40′ steel red fleet Work Equipment tool car.
All very distinctive sights and sounds from back in the day. :-)

  4. Thanks for all the comments guys.
