What’s the building at right?
Lots of details to look at in this one
@Jamie, That building is Ryerson Brothers’ Wholesale Foreign and Domestic Fruit Importers. As usual went down the history rabbit hole with this one:
Business founded in 1885 by Robert E. Ryerson and Fred W. Ryerson. Closed in the 60s and the site was taken over by Forte’s Market. Burned down circa 1980.
Robert E. Ryerson, 1865 – 1958, was a Member of Parliament for Brantford from 1925 – 1935.
The brothers are the great nephews of Egerton Ryerson, one of the designers of Ontario’s public school system, and for whom the university in Toronto was named (now renamed Toronto Metropolitan University.)
So much to look at here. Great photo John.
Great photo! To the left, looks better than the overgrown brush there today!
