Geez. After seeing the E.W.Johnson image taken near Trail BC as posted by Dan Dell'unto; and then reading the caption I just shook my head. Here it is 50 years after the fact and I finally discover that my trip down into Trail to catch the Trainmasters I thought were there, had actually left town. No wonder I could not locate one. Without the connections back then that we have today, I could only assume they were either at Nelson, which they weren't; then they must be at Trail. No luck. Anyway, to go with Dan's most interesting posting I thought it might be appropriate to post an overview of the Cominco Smelter. Quite the place I really I could not build up the nerve to try and get access to.
