GEXR 516 shoves slowly eastward alongside Highway 7 just east of Guelph proving a fine display of its unusual load to long-weekend travelers on the adjacent main road. I always wanted to try and shoot something on this open stretch but never got around to it when I lived in Guelph. As luck would have it, I was already visiting the area for the long weekend when I got tipped off about this move.

    Were they shoving it or pulling it? Photos in Georgetown having the engines pointed eastward. Great series of pics Chris.

    Brad, they pushed all the way to Georgetown. Photos you’ve seen of this train at Georgetown do show the engines on the west end, not east. At Georgetown the GEXR engines would be removed and a CN unit coupled on to pull the train to Hamilton.

    Sorry, right, the station is on the South side of the tracks. I have to get out more. :) Good work.
