I have had my Mavic Pro drone for over 2 years now but really have not had much time (or too lazy) to get out and really learn to use it properly. I took the drone for a spin today. Thought I would do a photo where the tracks cross over one of the worlds busiest highway (401). Train 271 with SD75I 5707 starts its uphill climb to McCowans on the York Sub at Liverpool. I have operated many trains over this bridge in my years as a locomotive engineer.. Boy do I miss it.????

  1. Gads!! What a location!! I generally do not care much for drone shots but there obviously was no other way to get an angle like that.

  2. Love the SD75′s. Nice there’s a lull in the action on the 401 for you! ;)

  3. This is pretty cool Phil. Nice work

  4. Thanks Joseph. It was my first real try at using the drone for railroad shots. I will try to improve as I learn more about how to use it for better photos. I know of lots of locations that I would love to get shots.I appreciate the kind words :-)

  5. I don’t think I have ever seen the 401 that empty…..I’m sure its nice going overtop of it during rush hours. Excellent Shot!

  6. @homerjay84. Thank you sir. Appreciated. I think I just got lucky, as it was Easter Sunday around 3pm. I definitely know there was traffic on the 401 in both directions when i took the shot it was all about timing :-)
