Interesting view of some old MLW switchers now stored and out of service. The closest unit to me, the 7077; in a few weeks departed for eventual display at Exporail in Quebec. It is of major disappointment now as I look back at this day and regret being told that 'my presence was not required' by yard personnel, which was a very polite way of telling me to 'get lost'. As a result I did not get to record any other numbers save for the visible 6588 .........
Nice that the Sudbury watertower highlights the background, giving good ID to this image.

On the right are CP 1805 and 8775 in behind.

  1. Hmm, the best I could find is the September 1981 assignment sheet showing units 6576 6594 6612 7091-7092 7099 7107-7108 assigned Sudbury, and 6542 6588 7024 7077 7089 assigned North Bay. Perhaps some of those others lasted long enough to be in this deadline. :)

  2. Wow. If only it was like that today, apart from the Gp20, Sd30, and sd60 with the odd road unit mixed in, Sudbury is kinda bland for the CP side of things.

  3. Thanks Dan. A year later a similar string of switchers occupied that track, along with CR 7779.
CP 7090 was also around at this time,IIRC.
