Nice combination of CN 2325, 2316 and 4414 crossing that big marsh down by Jordan Harbour heading toward Fort Erie. The marsh is an impressive body of water as seen from along the QEW, but averages only about 8 to 10 ft at its deepest spot. This image was taken from an old stone pier remaining from a parallel bridge built in the days of the Grand Trunk. The shot is no longer possible, and worse, the now present bridge railings do not do photography at this location any justice. If any of you viewers followed the news a while back in which potential terrorists were plotting to blow up a railroad bridge, well this is the one. Only one freight each way and AMTK each way use the bridge daily now.

  1. Plus seasonal GO trains. Although I haven’t heard about this year yet.

  2. Nice.

  3. And it is on the south track too, also no longer in existence there. I have attempted many times to get shots there, but as you mentioned, there just isn’t anything anymore. Luckily I have a drone, and have already gotten a couple shots from a couple hundred feet up. Need something lower to do justice though. With the hydro wires nearby, they really cut the range of the the drone so I’ll have to walk closer I guess.

  4. Yeah, what’s going on with the seasonal GO trains. I’d imagine they’re still going on, and if history repeats itself they’d be starting in two weeks.

  5. Admittedly I forgot about the GO trains. I was just thinking about what is running there at this current time. I’m looking forward to them starting up down here again. Anything!!!!

  6. I actually have a reason to use them this year, I’m excited to take them.

  7. Interestingly enough, Tourism Barrie already has the Barrie seasonal trains listed.http://www.tourismbarrie.com/information/about_barrie/GOTransit.aspx

  8. Thet “bike” trains do not usually start until the first long weekend in May.

  9. poor Mooney…..stuck in Niagara with very few trains. I’ll rent you a room here…view of the trains from the bay window….

  10. Only the rich can afford a fancy vehicle and a nice home in Aldershot with a premium view of the CN. The view of the tracks must be worth a few extra bucks. :o )
