Caption: Nothing like a cool, sunny Spring morning. Although I was on my way to Napanee, I made a day out of stopping at certain locations that never usually disappoint in terms of 'action'.
Here, CN veterans 4125 and 4121 are bringing back a cut of cars. The trackage they're on I believe connected at one point to the old Canadian Northern main. This would've been back before the creation of CN. When the CNoR and GTR became CN, I believe that CN reconfigured some of their industrial tracks using the former CNoR main line. After all, it was just a few hundred meters away.
Also, note the stacks of rails, ties and other 'junk' that these engines are passing. This is the former 'yard' at the station. All removed, when VIA built a behemoth pedestrian bridge with new platforms.

Nice shot and set of GP9RM’s Todd.
It’s unreal how Cobourg has changed since your photo with the upgrades. It’s also a lot harder to photograph around the station now with all the upgrades changing the angles.
Your photo looks like a scene from the CN London Reclaim Yard in the early 1970′s.
Thanks for the comments guys.
Randomly, I just came across A.W. Mooney’s photo, shot 32 years earlier! In his photo, CN 4125 and 4121 (plus 4537) are leading the Nanticoke steel train past Dundas station. UNREAL!
Nice scene, Todd. I only crossed paths with 518 a couple times while I was frequenting the area a few years ago. The 4125 and 4121 in Arnold’s shot went in for rebuild in late 1984. Will have to check to find what the emerged as.
Thanks Jacob. Also, thanks for letting me down gently LOL…I didn’t see in Arnold’s shot that these were before the rebuild program…DUH!
But, let us know what they’ve become.
