Rolling westbound across the old diamond at West Toronto Junction is an empty hopper train powered by CP 5553, 5550 and 8751.
This whole area has completely changed since the days us fans enjoyed watching and of course listening to trains in all four directions pounding their way over the diamond. I'm not sure you can even get near it now, having not been in the area for many years.

  1. Ahh my hood Mr Mooney! Indeed has changed since I drove through here living down the street. The GO trains and UPX of course fly under here…not interested seeing them anyway. ;) In the distance, the brown building at left on Osler is no longer there after an apparent fire. The lads I hang out with on the South side of the tracks there said there was a derailment there, not too long ago. The front Engine hit the building. Separate incident from the fire. Apparently it was a grain train and every species from the area was out for a feast!

  2. Sorry a car struck the building. This was in 2006. Btw, I would love to see an SD40-2 contribute to the current interesting locomotive show! Great shot as always. Brad.

  3. Brad: Glad you like.!! I posted a few others from this location a long time back and haven’t many more.
I enjoy hearing about change; but sometimes just too much change out there.
The Toronto Junction was such an entertaining place to hang around at. Pity for me it was a long way from St. Catharines where I lived back then.
