Caption: Side by side: RLK 4205 and 1201 at work in the former CN (now SOR) Stuart St yard alongside Niagara-bound CN train GCFX 6068 and WC 6934. Confusion abound (for me, anyway)at this time as old CN SD40s were being upgraded to SD40-3 and the transition from CN to Alsthom to Wisconsin Central ID was erratic. These two units were former CN 5112 and 5146. Renumbered and upgraded when GEC Alsthom gray (owned by Connell Finance) to GCFX 6064 and 6068. THEN they were relettered to Wisconsin Central as 6934 and 6938.......but, at the time of this photo the 6068 has not yet been relettered/renumbered. The RLK? Well, 4205 was scrapped in 2008 and the 1201 has gone to an industrial park in Sarnia, ON.

Crazy how this photo is 11 years old and how different the power is…
1201 is alive and well at the Vidal St Industrial Park in Sarnia – which is more than just an industrial park – i’d call its fully fledged shortline with two customers to switch (Cabot Carbon and Esso’s Vidal East side) and three yards –One 38 tracks, A new yard built 2015 at 14 tracks with room for 50 more, and a pair of tracks beside Vidal St for switching support. The former Royal Polymer leads have also been cleared and looks like they could do a four or five track yard there too – property was graded in 2015.
VIP has three locomotives and are very difficult to catch – I should do a couple photos if I can pull some out. I’ve had less than ideal lighting for most of my shots and the one nice day I saw them.. unhooked I was too far away.
I can also honestly say I didn’t get 4205 very often..
Also, I’m still shooting VIP in Sarnia, they now have 4 locomotives/pieces on site in Sarnia: LDSX 0178, 1506, 514 (slug), and VIPX 1511. VIPX 1201 is at VIP Corunna (inaccessible) possibly with one other unit.
And here’s my VIPX 1201 photo. I haven’t seen this unit in a long time now

Like the paint job on 1201 in your shot.
As for 4205, I didn’t mind the different colour as anything other than CP & CN I took a little extra interest in.
The 4205 wasn’t around long.
