Since this was the morning of Day 1 of the CN takeover of the Guelph Sub, I planned to leave for work earlier to have time to stop at the tracks on the way. This is what I found. GEXR 580 parked dead in the siding and covered with snow from the first snowfall of the season (actually the last decent snowfall to hit K-W so far this season!). This was the last time I shot GEXR in Kitchener. This was a surreal moment.

  1. This was cn A432 waiting for crew to depart east, gexr power borrowed as a kind of hph / move to mac yard for furtherance east one time thing.

It was also the only cn A432 so far as it has been 431 since then.

    Glad you documented it.

  2. This is an historic image at many levels. Very nicely composed as well Kevin.

  3. The snow on the units makes it seem like it’s been left behind – in effect GEXR was left behind.
