SOMETIMES YOU WIN...and sometimes you lose.... To sum it up, I had taken some vacation time off from work as I was kid free for the first week of May. I had planned this trip for sometime, and wanted to get back to this area to photograph not only VIA and CN, but the CSX as well. Boy, was I disappointed otherwise!

Before this shot, it had actually stopped raining and had looked to be clearing. But as the train slowly moved towards me, the weather quickly changed as the rain just poured down while I waited. This was my main win of the day, which was photographing this slow order train through Corunna that is led by CSX 2799 and a second unit that I did not wait in the rain to get the number for.

  1. The rain enhances the colours. Nice pic.

  2. Yep, I’ll take a rainy shot over a cloudy shot any day.

  3. Nicely done, this appears to be D724 with cars for Liquid Air or perhaps the Biodiesel place @ Sombra.

They ran a D724 today (Monday July 3) but I couldn’t be bothered to go for it, instead opting for the CN Transfer. You really have to have a lot of time to follow these guys, it’s a really slow run.

    Nice work!

  4. Thank you for the comments guys! I appreciate them all. The colours did come out great, the rain was pouring down and it is beytrr than just a cloudy day! And it really is a slow train. At least I didn’t have to go far to chase it down.
