The CN 0700 yard job clears the carbon out of CN 1439 and CN 4770. With word that the GMD-1's have been removed from the active roster, shooting CN 1439 for what could be one of my last times was a no brainer this morning.

  1. Fingers crossed that they stick around a little longer!

  2. GMD1 being removed again? As far as I know CN doesn’t have much 4-axle power left… So what are they going to replace them with? More GMTX leasers?

  3. CN still has lots of 4 axle power left actually. They have sold and scrapped lots of power but the GP/938/40 fleet number over 200 as now.

  4. stunning shot! Sad to hear the news about the GMD-1s

  5. Just missing a case of water on the nose. ;)

I don’t swing by too often, but it’s not common to see so much room in there I don’t think. A bit of an anomaly to see such a spacious looking Stuart.

  6. Very nice!

  7. Hey Phil, I hope so too. Those Tug Boats are work horses :)
    How’s retirement?
If you’re ever around Hamilton, stop by and say hi. It’s me Kam.

  8. Hey stranger…What are you doing on this site? I hear Hamilton/Aldershot is its own terminal?
Actually semi retired. After i left CN in 2018 i took a year off, got bored and now I am in the flagging dept for A&B rail. Doing Rule 42′s :-) . Miss running trains, but mostly miss all you guys. Stay safe brother and say hi to the guys for me!

  9. Oh you know, looking for pictures of us working the day job in Hamilton lol. We’ve been making friends with those who take the pictures, some even bring us coffee down in The Hole.
Oh ya, Aldershot is it’s own terminal now.
Hahaha, you always gotta be on those rails one way or another eh? I can say the same, and like wise, us guy’s miss you!
Just not the same with you guys gone. :(

  10. Who in their right mind would get you coffees?
