The heat and humidity is no factor for the crew of not so common train 523. The train has just crossed Bronte Creek on the single track bridge at Tansley in the distance. To the right is the brick works facility, which from time to time still sends out boxcar loads from the loading dock to the right. On this day CN had MofW equipment stored on the stub track.

  1. Nice shot of my train mister! I saw you on the bridge :-) Yes it was great to have the AC full blast that afternoon!

  2. PH….you’ve been in stealth mode lately..

  3. Hey snake…..lol I was on vacation for a month. Got back on the 3rd. Not as busy these days as Ford was shut down for retooling and traffic is still down. The company has abolished 547. Today is the last train. Hopefully its temporary.

  4. What’s 547 I thought that changed a while ago to 551?

  5. @marcus. The original 547 used to run out of Mallory. When that yard closed they tried to run it from Mac Yrd. It was then moved to Aldershot and worked the Halton Sub. The company changed the assignment and 547 switches in the yard at Aldershot and 551 now does the work on the Halton Sub.
As of today after the shift is over 547 has been abolished.

  6. Thanks for clearing that up, too bad it’s finished.

  7. @marcus. Not to worry, the company sometimes bring back trains they have abolished. :-)

  8. What is 523 final destination? London?

  9. @Marcus. 523 went to Pt. Rob to make a set off and ended up in Ft.Erie.

  10. Standing on that bridge is no treat with all that traffic !!

  11. Actually he was not on the bridge, he climbed over an shot the pic from the hill :-)

  12. Yeh the hill was much safer
