There were still a few people standing around waiting for the Toronto section of The Canadian on this warm June evening. Don't know what happened, but the early afternoon train did not show up until 2045 hrs. Fortunately for me, it was still light out. Just barely. Here we see southbound VIA 6791 (and 6634) making the station stop. It was very unusual to see an MLW (FPA-4) along this route. Almost always we were treated to GMDs.

  1. Definitely not a common sight through the north.

  2. Wow the station was still in service like that!

  3. FPA-4′s to Winnipeg were common, whether any travelled farther west?

  4. Only once did I ever ever see one of these units running thru Parry Sound. It must have been a “Montreal thing”.
