Lovely fall evening scene, John. Gorgeous colours.
Just beautiful, John. You hopefully must enjoy sitting back recalling all these wonderful adventures and living them over again. You sure have covered some great territory.
Great shot. What a scenic run that would have been.
Eleven hours is bonkers. Not really surprising though given that the railroad who originally built that line was nicknamed the Hellish Slow & Wobbly.
Jim Brown was standing next to John when this photo was taken. Mr. Brown’s photo was published in Greg McDonnell’s book “Passing Trains.” The caption states the train was “just out of French Village.” I’m quite certain the photo was taken here, the first crossing railway east of Upper Tantallon on highway 3: https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Tantallon,+NS/@44.6797825,-63.8335153,3a,75y,10.59h,86.92t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s8mFNk0GfqxBlu6yc9dRYNQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D3.0785608889312073%26panoid%3D8mFNk0GfqxBlu6yc9dRYNQ%26yaw%3D10.588260417545655!7i16384!8i8192!4m6!3m5!1s0x4b59f31990f8c05d:0x224c0ad330f7e911!8m2!3d44.6642127!4d-63.8956768!16s%2Fm%2F0k0vf3c?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDgwNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D
