Wandering around in Niagara Falls one night a long time back, hoping to hear of the Chessie coming over, I was positively shocked to see TH&B power. Was able to grab this shot just after it entered Canada, but due to traffic (and traffic lights) there was no way I was going to beat this thing to Clifton Hill. So this was as good as it got. It was my understanding this train was usually after dark, and for once, it was early. Power is TH&B 73, 71 and 77. The streets here have all been realigned since then, but it used to be Elizabeth Pl alongside and Huron St crossing the train is going thru. Almost close enough to be street-running.:o)

  1. Cool! :D

  2. Always great to see Niagara Falls shots

  3. Wandering around the streets of Niagara Falls in the evening looking for “Chessie”… that’s what her name was eh? Great catch.

  4. Awhhhh!!!! Humour from Smith!!! My day is now complete.

  5. with that mooney-mobile of the late 70′s….he had noooo trouble finding …chessie…after sundown(er). ooops..typo : )

  6. Very nice picture Mr.M. Lots of TH&B power. I won’t add to the commentary about you wandering the “mean streets” of The Falls.

  7. and you weren’t even on bridge street!

  8. Nice try, “Snake”. You’d not find Moon down at the Sundown(er). There were closer places to home to get in trouble at.:o) And yeah, don’t forget Bridge St.!!! Niagara’s finest chased the fluffies out of that area and they all moved downtown to Lundays Lane. Always some sort of gambling going on in the Falls. !!
