After setting off 5000' of autoracks on the GEXR Fergus spur (Leased to CP - seen at top - to the right of the CPR Waterloo subdivision) 244's power is heading back to the Galt Subdivision to run light power to Toronto. In the background is the Babcock and Wilcox plant - jointly accessible by CP and GEXR - marks the southernmost point GEXR can access on the Fergus spur from Guelph.

  3. Also see: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=14660. I’m sure motorists are a little happier now. They can travel over CP trains at ease, most of them obviously not paying attention to the NS locomotive. Nice to see NS on the Waterloo Sub!

  4. The reason for running power light to Toronto is that they need power there or crew or both. Otherwise power could be left at Galt to be lifted & crew taxied back to Quebec St or on to Toronto. We used to encounter this scenario years ago on arrival in Hamilton with Rock trains from London.
