Forget the new stuff - here are MY oldies. I started taking photos a few years prior and Ingersoll was the place to be - or so it seemed. Why? trains went through town at FULL speed... even NS 327/8 and the Roadrailer did every bit of their 70 MPH timetable freight speed, while everything else was restricted to 60 sans passenger. A great place if you want to see full speed action with the amenities of a town a short hop away. Photography was.. well.. it was a nice place to see trains, wasn't it :)
And a photo that's definitely aged well - VIA 70 with a pair in the old scheme, giving 'er to get up to track speed after a station stop at Ingersoll. I'm sick of the new stuff and I'm going to be going into my archives for a bit. Maybe a few of the gang on here will do the same? Pull out your oldies - this modern stuff is boring! Trains used to be cool, right?

  1. Pssstt…. not 2015! :)

  2. Slip of the finger.. too much modern stuff lately. It’s fixed :)

  3. Haha nice write up Steve and this brings back memories of that time in my life. And yes, the “1″ vs. the “0″ in the year makes a big difference :)

  4. I’m glad you’ve noticed it is boring out there, Mr. Host. :o ) It is almost getting to be that photos should be kept under wraps for 10 years and then offered up. THEN, it all looks so much more interesting!!

  5. Cool shot Steve. This paint scheme looks much better on the F40′s than the new “renaissance” scheme does.
