  1. Thats a great shot!! PNCX 3026 (Precision National) former UP of the same number.

  2. PNC (Precision National Corp) was a leasing company. PNC 3026 is an SD40.

  3. Nice. Note the van on the north track around the corner waiting for this train to clear

  4. There are a few interesting things to note in this great photo. The inbound train is on the “wrong” track, so I suspect that this was after the track was “singled” and had signals removed from service. Both CPs 2 track ABS and TH&B’s CTC were removed. It became single track dark” terrotory between Hamilton Jct and eventually Kinnear, before GO improvements started. The train looks like a rock train for Port Maitland, but 2 of the units don’t have dynamic brakes & that was a prerequisite for those trains at least when they started. The van on the outbound train must be the Ham Turn from London because that was the only job using a van in the early 1990s.

  5. PNC also leased two RS-27’S to CP back in the early 70’s. They were painted black and numbered 900 and 901. There might have been a third one also.

  6. Amazing the jungle in the top right. Suspect the GO project Eliminated most of that! And whatever came back between 1996 and 2017 was eliminated for the west harbour triple tracking.

  7. Windsor, we had a B&M GP-7 (in Minuteman scheme) in the lead, a PECO RS-27 second & a CP MLW FA-1 trailing.

It was freezing rain that night and of course, in my early career I never carried a camera with me. I do have all my timebooks though, with some “juicy” engine consists noted.

  8. My post above dropped the first line somehow. It started with,

“I worked with those RS-27s a few times. One night on 916 out of Windsor…”

  9. The photo has to be 1994-1995 when the PNC’s were on lease to CP, most likely 1994.
