Having completed their switch at Owens Corning Fibreglass, Ontario Southland Conductor Mercer rides the footstep in anticipation of his next task, flagging vehicular traffic approaching the crossing on York Road. Those ACFX hoppers looked so clean in the first decade of the 21st Century. Compare it to this shot by Mr. Host over a decade later, they have really got their "tan" on.

  1. Header needs to be changed, it’s not ONR.
Thanks for reminding me how ‘ rotund ‘ I could look when fully clothed in multiple layers during cold weather.

  2. Properly dressed for the prevailing weather conditions. A great ‘at work’ photo.

  3. Bruce, odd how it was “your day” to work the ground on the coldest day of the year. Odd eh!!

  4. Heh, heh, well there’s a bit of a story as to why I’m not in the cab. I’d tell you that it was a rotational sequence, taking turns. But many days it was my call who ran and who worked the ground. And I’ll leave it at that…

  5. Nice shot. Many great memories here often with Bruce in the chair. :)
