  1. Wonder if this was going to Burford or not…

  2. Definitely going to Burford with a hopper like that down on that spur

  3. Great photo! I don’t think there would have been too many RaiLink runs to Burford after this as the tracks were already removed to Burford by 2000.

  4. It’s possible that the train may have been headed for P&H in West Brant which was an infrequent customer on the spur. So even after trains stopped going to Burford, West Brant received occasional rail service until 1999 or 2000. From what I’ve read and heard, they would go there on the same day they served SC Johnson and would do P&H first, then down the LE&N to SC Johnson. That would’ve been an adventure to chase!

  5. I wasn’t alive for this, but i know this from talking to an former employee of raillink and reading the TH&B focus. It would be amazing to see if anyone ever managed to shoot any of these trains in West Brant in the final years of service. I hope more shots like this one turn up.

  6. In 98 there wasn’t a whole lot left on that line other then the Co-op in Burford, and a few places downtown Brantford, which CN ended up taking back in the end.
