I had the opportunity to obtain some timebooks from a long retired (& now deceased) brakeman/Conductor who worked during the 1950 to 70s.Those books indicate that “8900s” including some Trainmasters, were used often on Galt turns out of Toronto. These turns were primarily operated to bring loads of stone from the Paris area into Toronto as part of highway 401 construction projects. I don’t know how often those units ran as far as Quebec Street or beyond, but there are no examples of that in his books.
